About Leadership Fremont County
Our Mission
The Mission of Leadership Fremont County; is to provide leaders who are committed to excellence and progress in Fremont County the opportunity to better understand the general public policy issues, economic and social diversity and the challenges facing our county; and to prepare them, through shared mutual interests and the leadership skills developed, to be active in building a better Fremont County.
Who We Are
The Leadership Fremont County Program was founded in 2003 by a joint steering committee comprised of representatives from the Riverton Chamber of Commerce, Lander Chamber of Commerce, Wind River Indian Reservation, Dubois Community Project, City of Riverton, City of Lander, NOLS, and Central Wyoming College. The purpose of the program is to introduce and orient established and prospective leaders to the great community of Fremont County, identify individuals who have displayed a strong tendency toward civic involvement, and assist them in developing their potential to become community leaders.
What We Do
Leadership Fremont County is a series of at least nine sessions over a 9 month period covering such areas as leadership skills, decision-making, strategic planning and coalition-building. Important topics that will be examined include area history, economic development, social-economic factors, tourism & marketing, education, and tribal history and relations.
Enrollment
Interested? Leadership Fremont County is now accepting applications for the 2024-2025 class which begins in September, 2024. The cost is $450.00 for the program and employers often sponsor an employee.
Outcomes
Since its inception the program has graduated over 150 leaders. LFC leaders are now challenging themselves by serving their employers and our community in active community-building efforts. You can be a part of this dedicated, dynamic, and successful group of citizens.
